House 8
Project type: Tiny house, Vertical garden, Private clients
Size: 30 m2
This project is the first project that I participated in during my fourth year at KTH Architecture school. In this project we had clients, did all building permits and lastly built the houses.
The project, House 8, is characterized by its narrow shape and length. The clients to the project wanted the house to be multi-functional and have a large area for cultivation, as this was a allotment house. This played a big role because one of the customers was taking a course in garden architecture. She had big plans for the garden and which plants she wanted to grow. The other customer was very interested in technology, which he also wanted to influence the design of the allotment house. This ended in a project with large pergola areas, multifunctional outdoor spaces and a high-tech look. The project houses a working shed, a small kitchenette, a small living room and a small bedroom. The interior is also very well designed with the wooden structure visible and a with a large Plexiglas window providing a very satisfying daylight source. In the bedroom area the window just let in some light but you would not be able to look out/ in. This is because of privacy for the inhabitants.
